Neighbourhood Watch
Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) is both a philosophy and an approach to working together as a community to reduce crime and enhance community safety.
Neighbourhood Watch Queensland (NHWQ) encourages communities to work together to improve the safety of their families and other people, who live, visit and do business in their neighbourhood.
It also encourages interaction and a shared sense of responsibility between individuals, neighbours and communities for preventing and reducing crime.
Bunya has an active Neighbourhood Watch group, which works alongside the Bunya Resident’s Association.
We encourage a spirit of community through annual events such as the Bunya Christmas breakfast and Clean Up Australia Day.
We also liaise regularly with the Queensland Police Service about crime prevention strategies, including Neighbourhood Watch signage and Facebook updates.
If you see any suspicious activity in the Bunya area, please report it to PoliceLink on 131444 or file a report online at http://www.police.qld.gov.au/programs/policelink/. You can also report hooning, noise complaints, lost property or graffiti to PoliceLink.
If the incident is urgent or an emergency, please call 000.
